FOUND A GRAVE

Actor. Young made his stage debut in 1911 with Arthur Bouries in “Find the Woman”.  After playing for some time in the English provinces he appeared in “Improper Peter” in London. So successful was he in this play that his next chance came from New York where he played in “Hindle Wakes” and in shorter plays with the Darlington Square Players.  Other full length stage plays included “John Gabriel Sorkman,” “Rescuing Angel,” “Scambled Wives,” “Madam Pierre,” “The Devil’s Disciple,” “The Last of Mrs. Cheney” and “The Queen’s Husband.” His first film was the John Barrymore version of “Sherlock Holmes,” in which he played ‘Dr. Watson’. Young’s most memorable portrayal was as ‘Uriah Heep’ in “David Copperfield.” (1935) Also Young was a frequent radio performer, he starred in the 1940s audio version of “Topper” and was cast opposite Cornelia Otis Skinner in the 1945 sitcom “William and Mary.” Young died of natural causes.
