The Martin Scorsese “Taxi Driver” (1976)(as the deli owner), “King of New York” (1990) as Roy Bishop with Christopher Walken, David Caruso, Laurence Fishburne, Wesley Snipes, and Steve Buscemi, and “Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samarai” (1999). He had less menacing roles in movies like “The Last Temptation of Christ” (as Apostle Peter) (1988), “Desperately Seeking Susan” (1985) and “Angel Eyes” (2001) (as Jennifer Lopez’s father). Other notable movie credits include The Rose (1979), Monkey Trouble (1994), Coyote Ugly (2000), Smoke (1995), Blue in the Face (1995) and 2001’s Don’t Say a Word as Sydney Simon. TV credits include “Law and Order,” “Kojak,” “Early Edition,” “Spenser: For Hire,” “The Rockford Files,” “Wonder Woman,” “Starsky and Hutch,” “Baretta,” “All in the Family,” “The Waltons,” and a recurring role on “Miami Vice” as ‘Commandante Salazar.’
